A Huge List of Sales: So Many Nice Table Lamps

I actually look forward to Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale each summer. (I suppose that’s why I’m a deals editor!) Though it has “sales events” every few months, this sale in particular is the best time to stock up on beauty-product bundles and find a lot of discounts on summery clothing. Because there are so many deals to sift through, our writers have curated three guides on shopping the sale: one for fashion, one for beauty, and one for everything. I’ve included a few finds of my own below; the home department is not to be missed!

A few other sales roundups that went up on our site this week: Strategist writer (and resident personal-care expert) Arielle Avila found FSA-eligible summer essentials on sale; and our home writer Lauren Ro rounded up her top picks from the Six Bells’ Barn Sale. I included a few of my favorites, below, and rounded everything out with a some other deals I spotted across the web, including our best-in-class body oil, a nice-looking table runner, and a night-light for babies.

As always, make sure to sign up for our email newsletter for even more sales coverage — including extra deals each Friday hand-selected by yours truly.

For something with a little more oomph, all of M.A.C’s lip products are 30 percent off this weekend. Strategist contributor Mbiye Kasonga attests that the Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour (specifically in the cranberry-red shade Dance With Me) granted her a “mythological well of confidence.”

I was surprised to find that lots of La Roche-Posay sunscreen from my wish list is still on-sale post–Prime Day. (We named this one our best chemical sunscreen for acne-prone skin.)

After a dehydrating day in the sun, slather yourself in our best affordable body oil. Not only is it super-lightweight, making it easy for the skin to absorb, it’s also fragrance free, which makes it suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive ones.

We named this Panasonic model the best-in-class beard trimmer for beginners and teens, and right now, it’s the cheapest I’ve seen it in a while, at just $37. It has an easy-to-use adjustment dial to accommodate different hair lengths and both wet and dry functions. (It’s also Kel Mitchell–approved!)

Most of the best deals we’ve seen at Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale are in the apparel section. You can usually find Natori’s “unicorn of undergarments” on sale at Nordstrom, but we rarely see deals on wearable shades — and right now it’s $48 in gray, beige, and lavender.

In our guide to the best wireless bras for large breasts, a very similar True & Co. bra took the title of “best seamless.” This lacy number is now 35 percent off.

Madewell is offering an extra 40 percent off sale items with the code SUMMER40 — so stock up on this basic tank now that it’s just $15.

No, Strategist contributor Mya Gelber didn’t test this top in her hunt for the best white button-down — but it does look like a very good option!

I have to admit, I’m coming around to the single-buckle Birkenstocks!

Even if you’re not vacationing on the French riviera, you can at least look the part. (And it’s 50 percent off.)

At Nike, select styles are 25 percent off with the code SPORT25. These breezy shorts come in 16 colors — all are on sale, but three hues are doubly discounted.

If you’re also someone who hates phone alarms, I highly recommend Loftie’s smart alarm clock. It gently wakes you over a period of about ten minutes and has a variety of soothing sound baths and background noises that are nice to wind down to in the evening.

$210

Pairing the Loftie alarm clock with the equally nice-looking Loftie Lamp allows you to turn it into a sunrise-alarm-clock system. With 33 presets, our tech writer Jordan McMahon says it turns his bedroom into a James Turrell–esque light installation.

We’re also enamored with this portable little globe light from Auda (formerly Menu).

The (beloved-by-architects) concrete version earned a spot on our best bedside table lamps roundup. Strategist senior editor Simone Kitchens says it has “the best dimmer on earth.”

I also found some funky, colorful lamps on sale at Schoolhouse. This angular option comes in four colors …

… and this glossy, portable guy comes in four colors, too.

The home section of Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale is my favorite — I’m currently considering this floral-print shower curtain.

This is a really great deal on Dusen Dusen’s ’80s Marimekko-esque duvet set.

I’ve been on the hunt for a table runner, and this stripey one is definitely in the running. (Sorry.)

Even more home décor deals abound at the Six Bells’ Barn Sale, which goes through July 31. Strategist writer Lauren Ro sniffed around the sale and found these pretty napkins (that shake out to just over $5 apiece).

Strategist writer Katherine Gillespie loves a teeny tapered candle. This set of ten handmade beeswax candles are next on her shopping list.

I thought this was also a candle at first, but cluster of grapes is actually olive-oil soap — handmade by the same family in Tripoli since 1803.

Wooden salad bowls are a staple in every cool chef’s kitchen — this one looks the part but isn’t wildly expensive.

$42

Now it can now tomato season year-round (at least in your kitchen).

$199

Theragun’s teeny massage gun has an impressive following — including Strategist columnist Rio Vera-Newton, who says this small-but-mighty massager provides incredible relief in just 15 minutes.

MysteryVibe Legato
$195

And a different kind of massager: one of our best vibrators for couples is 25 percent off right now.

One of our favorite backpacks for flying carry-on-only is nearly 40 percent off. Tortuga’s Travel Backpack Pro opens clamshell-style to reveal two suitcase-style compartments, and also features a nicely padded laptop sleeve with a false bottom for extra protection.

We crowned BabyBjörn’s baby bouncer our best-overall pick. It’s durable, easy-clean, and easy-to-store — especially when you buy this travel bundle, which includes some fascinator toys and a travel bag.

In our sanity-preserving tools for traveling with babies, Skip Hop’s night-light-slash-sound-machine plays a starring role. Plus, it’s just darn cute.

Ebi’s “superluxurious” body oil, which is specifically formulated for postpartum care, is an excellent gift for pregnant people.

The Strategist is designed to surface useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Every product is independently selected by our team of editors, whom you can read about here. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
